The joy I give heals my pain

Afterwar realities are harsh. State allowance and compensation help but are not salvation. I understood that I needed to be strong, tightly strong.

Becoming an employee with three children to raise alone wasn’t possible, so I began thinking about small, even tiny but my own income-generating activity. However, it wasn’t easy to end up with the final idea because of the scarcity of my financial means and my location. In the Vayk region, business is a big challenge because local people are not at ease with money.

Looking for business ideas on the Internet, I came across the announcement of the “Women empowerment in Armenia “project of the Armenian Fund for Sustainable Development.

Apparently, I was eligible as a beneficiary, so I requested to participate in the capacity-building training with an original idea to open a children’s library.

But after the training, I made my sales calculations and scraped the idea. I decided to perform for children and their parents. I bought a giant Happy Polar Bear mascot costume, and the “Women empowerment in Armenia “ project funded my training in a video photo montage. They also bought me an amplified loudspeaker and a photo camera with a laptop to play the music and process event photos.

Now we offer children and their parents a chance to dance, giggle and grab a selfie with our lovely Happy Polar Bear. Sometimes, I invite a clown to make family anniversaries and family gatherings more entertaining.

As our show reservations soar, I think up to make our performance more compelling.
