Education in Armenia is not a privilege but a societal acquis. Every family, notwithstanding its social status, strives to get the best education for their children.
The literacy rate in Armenia is one of the highest in the world and it is close to 100%. However, amid other barriers, two systemic hindrances impede obtaining an adequate education.
On the one hand, the mismanagement of institutional capacities for decades ends with deteriorated premises and timeworn school equipment. On the other hand, soaring university scholarships are a heavy financial burden for students.
With the generous support of the UEFA Fund for Children and AAAS , the Armenian Fund for Sustainable Development has equipped more than sixty schools throughout Armenia and supported students to cover tuition fees.
