Artificial Intelligence and Migration

The phenomenon of migration has been an integral part of human history and has been shaped by various international, regional, and national legislations.

With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), examining the relationship between AI and human migration became imperative.

The use of AI is widespread in almost all areas of human interaction and impacts society constantly, including migration.

AI is characterized by the combination of machine learning algorithms and large data sets, which enables the creation of highly sophisticated systems capable of performing complex tasks with remarkable accuracy.

However, being one of the world’s most influential technologies, and despite its potential benefits, using AI in migration should be conditioned to respect the rights and freedoms of migrants.

It is worth mentioning that even accurate and unbiased AI systems can still pose risks to data protection and privacy and may lead to discrimination based on prohibited grounds.

We will keep highlighting perspectives in our blog about the ethical and legal aspects of using AI systems in migration, bearing in mind that this technology should ultimately serve the interests of all stakeholders involved in the migration process.
