The Arev Society supports Women's Empowerment in Armenia

The Armenian Fund for Sustainable Development has worked with vulnerable women since 2020 in Armenia when a terrible war shattered families and destinies.

Thousands of women became widows or found themselves with disabled husbands who were not in a physical capacity to work anymore. Together with its partners, the AF4SD supported these vulnerable women to overcome the after-war challenges.

The Arev Society provided management support for the timely and responsible implementation of these programs.

In 2022, with the support of the Fisher family and the Arev Society, we launched the “Vulnerable Women’s Empowerment” project. We helped several women from war victim families become self-sufficient through income-generating activities creations.

In 2024, we launched a new “Refugee Women Empowerment “project supported by Saint Sarkis Charity Trust. The Arev Society has been providing management support for this project.

More than 50 income-generating activities were initiated in 2022 and 2023 within the “Vulnerable Women Empowerment” program, several of which were supported by the Arev Society.
